“Are you okay?” were the last recorded words of Alex Pretti. Rene Nicole Good’s last recorded words on this earth were, “I’m not mad at you bro.” Both gave lovingly to their fellow neighbors embodying what it means to be a Good Samaritan. Both were followers of Christ and not followers of religion. Alex, like Jesus’ boys had a weapon on him, however he followed Christ’s instruction to his disciples to “Put your sword back,” and never drew his weapon. Followers of religion focus on outward appearances. Jesus called these hypocrites “whitewashed potsherds.” Followers of Christ are Good Samaritans. On the Jericho roads of life they don’t pass by the abused like the priest or the levite did. They stop and render assistance. They are not outwardly righteous and religious and internally corrupt, spiritually dead, and full of uncleanness.
“Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?” (Matthew 25:44)
